What is Personal Color Analysis?
Personal Color Analysis is the scientific analysis of a person’s natural skin coloring in order to identify a personal color tone. The goal is to find the colors harmonious with a person’s skin tone in order to balance and strengthen their natural coloring.
Who should have a color analysis?
Color analysis is for both men and women and for people of all races and nationalities.
How will getting my colors done save me time and money?
Most of us have made a lot of “shopping mistakes.” Our closets are full of clothes with price tags still on, clothes we wore only once, clothes we keep because they were expensive and we feel guilty throwing them out. We spend hundreds of dollars on clothes we don’t even like that are simply taking up space in the closet! We buy new things for special functions even when it’s beyond our budget. After you have your Color Palette and Color Notes, you know what to buy and what NOT to buy! This will save you both time and money. When you buy only clothes that are harmonious with your colors and style, you’ll build a multi-purpose wardrobe that mixes and matches for all occasions.
How does a color analysis work?
The analysis is done by observing and comparing the effects of placing different test colors next to the skin. Colors that aren’t in harmony with the skin will fight against the skin tone. This will cause the face to look drained and cause shadows, lines, dark circles, blotches, blemishes and other flaws on the face to become more evident. Colors that are in harmony with the face will cause the skin, eyes and hair to look more vibrant.
What makes a color analysis at A New Hue different?
A New Hue uses a 12 tonal system goes beyond the 4 Season Color Analysis systems that most people are familiar with. Many people were introduced to the idea of color analysis through a 4-season method of identifying skin tone as either warm or cool. While this method worked for some, it was not complete. In addition, the studio has been designed so that a scientific analysis can be completed. The walls are painted neutral gray, all lighting is full spectrum and all colors surrounding the client are neutralized.
At A New Hue each client is given a comprehensive Personal Color Solution swatch book. In addition a full description of an individual’s profile and tips on wardrobe, hair color, and hair style is provided. For females the consultation also includes a make-up consultation.
Why is shopping an endless project for me? I never feel like what I have is appropriate?
When you don’t really know what you are looking for, you will continue to buy things that don’t fit what you really need. But once you have your personal Color Palette and Style Guide, you have a focus . . . a guidance system, and shopping will be completely streamlined! With your color swatches in hand, you’ll look only for your colors and styles, and disregard the things (even entire store sections!) that aren’t right for you.
Will a tan change the results of the analysis?
A slight tan should not affect the results of the color analysis, but it’s best to wait until a deep, dark tan fads before doing the consultation.
Do you do groups?
Because of our detailed and thorough analysis, ideal group will be 2-4 participants and takes 2-3 hours. A special rate would be offered.
Is the color analysis expensive?
No, the analysis costs $140. This includes the Personal Color Palette and a palette profile, a make-up consultation as well as a variety of wardrobe and style tips. The results of the analysis will last a lifetime.
